Heat wave resources
Dear neighbor,
Indiana is expected to see extreme temperatures this week. To help Hoosiers stay safe and cool in these potentially dangerous conditions, a division of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration has a list of cooling centers open across the state. You can call 2-1-1 to find the center closest to you or click the link here.
I encourage all of you to be prepared and take precautions during this heat wave. Stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities and remain inside where it is air conditioned as much as possible (especially seniors or those with heart and respiratory conditions). If you do have to go outdoors, wear sunscreen and loose-fitting clothes. Make sure that you DO NOT leave children or pets unintended in cars.
